I don't have anything interesting to say, so instead let me show you what I bought
Hunters and Collectors, godspeed you! black emperor and the Cramps. It's money I can ill afford this month, but well worth it, and who needs groceries anyway? I hadn't heard this Hunters and Collectors record before, and it's different from the ones I have, more. . . produced. And with backup singers. Weird.
I only stopped in at Wuxtry because I had 20 minutes to wait for the bus. When I found three things to buy in less than five minutes I knew I had to get the hell out of there. This is why I don't go there every week; I'd be safer from temptation in a yarn store.

if you like godspeed, have you heard bell orchestre? they're somewhat similar sounding, and also from montreal - 'siblings' of the arcade fire if you will (my friend richard, as well as sarah and pietro play in both bands). they just put out their cd - and shelagh rogers played it on sounds like canada (please tell me the cbc is something you miss now that your in the states) yesterday morning.

Yes, record stores are killer. Try taking a visiting friend to a tour of all the record stores in the area and trying not to spend money!
I heard Arcade Fire for the first time yesterday (responding to Jae's comment) and thought they sounded like The Flaming Lips.
Does CBC offer a webfeed like BBC and RUV do?

I hadn't heard "Hunters and Collectors" mentioned in probably 20 years... Wow, brought back memories. I saw them here in Austin in about 1986. It was just a little dive of a place, but I loved them. Interesting. Thanks for the memory!
