What the NHL needs: more nipple
I think that after every Stanley Cup playoff game the players should exchange jerseys like they do in the World Cup. I mean, the games are exciting and all, but a little flash of nipple would make them all that much better. My relationship with hockey has always been tinged with lust: not lust for actual players, or at least not any player(s) in particular, but just the whole sensual experience of the sweat and diesel smell of an arena, the sound of blades scraping into ice, and the sweet, sweet cold of the air. It reminds me of the summers of my puberty years, those endless days of shivering in a mesh top and satin shorts in the local arena lusting after those cute, cute hockey school boys, hoping they would notice me. Watching the games on television takes away that delicious chill and the sweaty smells and the opportunity of hooking up with hockey boys over bottles of pop at Theo's Variety after the game, but that could all be made up for with a few flashes of bare chest, don't you think?

Wow, what an awesome description. You are a fantastic writer, Jodi.

Pisani should have whipped his jersey off after that game 5 short-handed OT goal just like Brandy Chastain did after her memorable game winning goal.

Eh. Man Boobs. Not so thrilling, that. Now, powerful thighs and a tight ass... that gets my attention. ;-)

Sweetie!
Thank you for your wonderful comment chez moi. I need words like yours. I'm trying to just be me and take it as it comes. I'm spending the night with friends rooting for Sweden in the game against England in the soccer world cup. We'll see if that's what I need. I look forward to it all the same.
I lost your email address in a crazy internet trouble phase... Please give it back. I miss it!

And your post here: I'm with Mandy. You're awesome in describing the thrill of hockey. I was a BIG hockey fan in my teens, and nor I mean it as in "on TV". LIVE baby... Live... That rink feeling...

You. Are. Such. A RIOT!

Rhett Warrener. Jay McKee. Chris Pronger.
Yep. I'd pay money to see 'em nekkid!
And, although it's the morning after, the boys played well, and it's a damn shame to have the Cup south of the Mason-Dixon line.

I'm all for nipples and bare chests, but after sitting right behind the bench at a Junior A game, I would prefer less sweat. P-ew.

Perfect description! Gosh, hockey is amazing. Nothing like being there in real life though, totally agree. I can feel that "chill" right now.
How many months till the season starts again? :)

ahhhh...hockey. i've only been able to stomach the last couple days with the tems in the 90's or near that by watching my one true game. thanks for such a great post.
i have to laugh at susan's post as both rhett warrener and jay mckee at one point played together for my beloved buffalo sabres. although i will say after organizing events that they both attended (although we are not officially canadian, hockey players are our celebs here too), they are much much cuter with the uniforms on - even a little sweaty!

"nipple" is such a fun word, isn't it?

What in this world doesn't need more nipple? But I'll jump on your hockey bandwagon. Jersey swapping it is!
