week one editions

week one: an edition a week.

week one: an edition a week.
Woodcut, sumi ink drawing, chine colle and drypoint.

These were finished up on Sunday afternoon; I don't really have much to say about them right now, but I'm messing around with imagery ideas for a book I'll begin working on soon, and using the editioning challenge as an opportunity to try out some of those ideas. By necessity, many of the prints for this challenge will be small, in order that the constant need to make editions not overshadow my other work (which is all larger and more labour-intensive). These two prints are approximately six by nine inches.

And, psst. . . the spring Interweave preview is up. You can't see my project (or some of the others) very well, but it looks like a good issue overall. First in the queue, I think, will be Eunny's socks, because only Eunny can make frumpy old entrelac look so freaking HOT.

Hi Jodi! I am currently knitting the Gatsby Girl (which I love!), and would really like to make it long sleeved instead of 3/4. How many stitches would you recommend that I cast on for the sleeves in order to do this? Thanks.

Oohh Jodi, I like this one. Very nice.

Looooove your tank. Can't wait to see it, for real.

They really tease us with those tiny pictures, huh?

Very pretty tank top!

Looks like they need to feed their models more often... :)

I like your prints. They give me the impression of illustrating some sort of creation myth...

Very nice! Looks like something I could wear! Woot! Your work is looking really good.

We gotta get together soon.

I think the IK servers have gone into meltdown! Great prints.

I saw the peek of your new top at IK, I can't wait to see the full item. I like the prints. The top one looks like a gnome village in the forest to me, but I might be in a gnome-y mood today.

Thanks for posting your prints. I love the layering of colour and the chine colle best (and the green!)

I can't get onto the IK website, so I'll have to check your contribution out on another day.

Cheers
Claire

I love the new prints. Your woodcuts are so great - very whimsical. Love your use of color too.

The new IK preview is quite a tease - but what I could see of your design was beautiful. You do it all, girl. Amazing!

Yes, I was quite frustrated by the tiny pics. Your tank looks beautiful, but kind of hard to see the full effect from a photo of the bottom half from behind! Can't wait to see the issue.
