I take it back. But only a little.
So half an hour after I called everyone at UGA a princess I left the house for the studio, and as it turns out there was a little bit of slush-like stuff here and there on the grass, and pooling on the windshields of parked cars. Still, there was nothing but regular old water on the roads, and this slush-stuff melted pretty quickly. It was nice to see a bit of white though. Thanks, Georgia!

My cousin moved from Boston area to Atlanta area and has a LOT to say about Georgia...weather, princesses (she says, "they all look alike, what in their little tennis skirts and lovely blonde hair"). I took a road trip to Athens once (from Syracuse NY, 21 hr straight drive) for a party. It was COLD that time too! And the toilet of the house we were at was outside, out the kitchen door, across the porch, and into a tiny room. No heat! And I found a black widow spider while collecting pecans. Young and foolish. But we had fun.

Wimps. They should try to drive through Buffalo in January. That'd teach 'em.

I spent some formative years in Georgia -- snow/light frost there is rather amusing for the Northern folks to watch....though I remember my mother going on about the insanity of it all on a snow day while we were there. She decided we would go to the mall, as she was from Pennsylvania and knew how to deal with a wee bit of snow. We spun out and ended up in a ditch on the way there. Along the same vein, I have to admit that it got very tiresome being beaten down by snowstorms here in Vancouver while having to listen to Albertans prattle on about how ridiculous BCers are. It all comes down to how prepared your city is to handle it, no? That's not a commentary on anything you're saying . . i'm just saying. forgive me. it's not quite 8am. must. not. comment. before noon.
