Miss Henry

started early January, 2008, completed March 6, 2008

pattern: Ariann, by Bonne Marie Burns

mods: none, except to make it small enough to fit more snugly than the pattern calls for.

yarn: a sturdy and super-soft wool/acrylic/alpaca, recycled from a secondhand sweater (the full front of that sweater is left over, not yet unravelled).

verdict: LOVE IT. You can see from the photo that it could have been a little larger after all, but I'm not worried because I know that recycled wool relaxes a little bit with wear. I especially love the garter stitch collar, so much that now I wish all of my sweaters had garter stitch collars.

It was tough for me to control my usual desire for high contrast, but these vintage catalin buttons are absolutely perfect:

Wanna know who my button pusher is? Sure you do.

Excuse moi... but could you tell me where the periodicals are kept?

Oh, Jodi, it's you! I thought you were the sexy librarian!

(Sorry, it's the ultimate goal for the KOL group - to achieve the look of the sexy librarian - cool glasses, great sweater, awesome dress/skirt.)

Hey, I think I met that sweater-in-progress, didn't I? It looks fabulous on you, and I very muchly heart those buttons. After froggings galore, I am almost nearly maybe done with my modified Drops. I hope it looks half as good on me as that sweet Miss Henry looks on you!
Cheers

The sweater is beautiful, you look great in it!

I covet the buttons. If you end up coming to Vancouver (I hope I hope), I must take you to Button Button.

Miss Henry looks lovely! I had been thinking of knitting that pattern as well, but knit the Ribby Cardi instead. I love how yours turned out.

Oh my gosh. The buttons. You are evil! I love the sweater, and the short hair.

I do love those buttons! They are perfect for Miss Henry. Can you tell me about the size you chose for this pattern? Some people felt that it turned out too small for them. I want mine to be fitted but not to gape at the buttons. How much ease did you allow for, cause yours is swell!
