The printing at home completely threw off my routine, and so I made a big mistake: I didn't photograph the dress at this stage before printing it again. To make matters worse, while wearing it I only photographed it with the sweater over it. The new colour is the red that you can see down at the bottom, the same as the dress from the day before.

I made these slides over the weekend as part of a big job application package I was putting together. I love the way the dresses look all lined up with themselves at different stages.
The black lines (there, of course, because the slides will be viewed on black rather than white) aren't really different widths from one slide to the next; that's just how flickr resized them. In real life they look perfect.

I wanted to get a busy, bustling shot of the dress at SAFF with the vendors in the background, but the place was too busy and too bustling and people kept walking in between me and the camera. I had to make do with a headless shot.
While browsing the vendors I was approached by someone who said, "are you Jodi?. . . I recognized you by your dress!". It was pretty amazing to be at a fibre festival of all places and have an encounter that I could write about on this weblog instead of my other (more knitty) one. Thanks, Kathryn, you totally made my day!

New dress! Many of today's new batch of dresses (5 in total that I finished sewing this morning) looked very similar, all using the same fabric or the same print, so I printed on three of them today before wearing. This one I put on as soon as it was sewn, though, and I like how it has the big white area on the front that didn't get printed, down at the end of the fabric.
This dress (and one of the others that got printed today) contains the recycled remains of skirt #7 in its bodice and pockets. That skirt is the one I'll miss the least out of all of them.
